Never Coming Back
03:36
|
|||
We crumble like life to dust
And we will not come back ever
With the grinding down of our knees
We will now leave this place forever
All the pores are expanding in our bones
Could another thought make you feel any more alone?
I like to think I’m not scared of the fact that we are never coming back
But I can’t pretend as I lay here breathing that I am not terrified I’ll be leaving

Black Cloud Brain
03:53
|
|||
Sometimes I can’t escape the feeling that my brain has been replaced by a heavy, black cloud
My mind is tired, my body is tired
I try to make it better
I think I’m feeling better
I tried to make it better
It’s better now than it has been, maybe ever
My mind is tired, my body is tired
But sometimes it’s not enough
Sometimes nothing is enough
I just want to lay here in bed until it all goes away

Neon Nights
02:55
|
|||
Here I stand transfixed on glowing neon lights
Because I cannot bear to look you in the eye
Hidden out of sight, this place devoid of light
All I feel is cold despite this summer heat at night
Tears in our eyes, glowing yellow, bright
All there is for us is sadness here tonight

What Could Have Been
03:14
|
|||
Our fragile necks bowed with nerves
I caught your glance as I walked away
We didn’t utter a single word
I never even knew your name
Now I can’t even remember your face
Or the way that I felt at that time, in that place
But underneath it all, it still lays
Haunting me until this very day

As I sit here now in the stillness and the silence
I can only imagine how you felt in your darkness
Although you always were surrounded by so many
They couldn’t comprehend the pain you kept inside
In death there cannot be a moment of relief
You cannot look back and ever be at peace
But now I understand there is a different goal
To simply end your suffering, one and all
We cannot sit and judge and neither can we fault
The man who cannot see a way he can be freed
Did you ever know the hands outstretched beside you?
Or were they somehow close and yet too far to grasp?
